At the beginning of a business, business visionaries seek a permit by the government to get their recognition. MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) registration or SSI (Small Scale Industries) is one of the less demanding conventions for registration. This registration gives various benefits to businesses.
What are the benefits of registering MSME?
There is no statutory basis for registration schemes. Businesses are usually nominated for the benefit of certain benefits. Motivational forces are financed by either the central or state governments. The benefits offered by the Central Government can be summarized as follows:
- Priority Sector Lending or Low Rate of Interest
- Excise exclusionExemption from direct tax laws.
- Statutory assistance, for example, reservation and interest on the Delayed Payment Act.
- States / UTs provide their bundles of facilities and incentives for small scale industries. They identify growth opportunities with these establishments and provide various subsidies and sponsorships, reduce electricity rates, rebate on capital investment, and help others. Both the center and the state, whether under law or anything else, focus on their incentives and goals, especially on the units registered with them.
What are the main objectives of the MSME registration scheme?
- To maintain a pace and rhythm in small industries on which incentives are focused.
- To provide a certificate that empowers businesses to benefit from incentives, primarily in terms of security.
- To help meet the need to gather insights and statistics.
- To help the nodal focus at the center, state, and local level (district) to advance SSI.

Which factors are not considered as investments?
For registration, the cost of complete plant and machinery is Rs. 25 crores for manufacturing businesses and Rs. 10 crores for service-based businesses. When calculating this number, the estimate of land and building will not be high towards total investment. Similarly, the basic cost of machinery, plant, and equipment is considered. Depreciation cannot be calculated.
How does SSI / MSME help in getting a loan from a bank?
All banks and other NBFCs have experienced MSMEs and made unusual plans for them. This usually includes a priority segment loan, which means that your business is more likely to get a loan authorized, similarly interest rates will be lower. Similarly, special treatment may be done in the event of delayed payment.
